New terror raids in northern Nigeria; Christians flee

After a new rash of bombings in northern Nigeria, and a clash between Boko Haram terrorists and government troops, Bishop Oliver Dashe Doeme of Maiduguri, Nigeria, has asked for prayers for local Christians.
After Boko Haram orchestrated a bombing attack on a market in Maiduguri, reportedly killing 30 people, government troops engaged the terrorists in a gun battle and claimed to have killed 8 of the terrorists.
“The Boko Haram sect continues to attack police stations and civilian targets,” reported Bishop Doeme. Christians are leaving the region, where the violence against the religious minority has been most intense.”
"I call on Christians worldwide to pray for us, so that peace is restored in our country," the bishop told the Fides news service.
