Iraq: Muslim student murders Christian teacher he suspected of proselytizing

from Jihad Watch:

Iraq: Muslim student murders Christian teacher he suspected of proselytizing
I just received this email from Iraqi Kurdistan:

Subject: Christian teacher killed by a muslim student
Message: I live in the city of Sulaymaniyah which is located in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The Kurdistan region is known for its security and "tolerance" for people of all ethnic and religious minorities; unlike the rest of Iraq. I've attended a private-christian school for the last decade or so. There are several christian teachers there who have come voluntarily to help raise education standards in the region and help the local community. One of those American teachers, Jeremiah Small, was an exceptionally talented and kind hearted young man. He was known for his devout christian faith, which angered many muslim fundamentalists who believed he was brainwashing young students into becoming christians. Today, during the beginning of class, a Muslim student got up and shot Mr. Jeremiah three times in the chest, and then shot himself in the head. The student was known for his adherence to islam and his hatred towards the christian teachers.

Here is an AFP story on this murder: "US teacher shot dead by student in north Iraq," March 1:

An American teacher was shot dead on Thursday by one of his students at a private Christian school in Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region, officials said.
The student, 18-year-old Piyar Suroor, tried to kill himself after firing multiple gunshots at Jeremiah Small, a teacher at the Medes School in Kurdistan's second biggest-city of Sulaimaniyah.

"A student killed his American teacher by shooting him dead," said Sulaimaniyah police spokesman Lieutenant Sargut Ahmed.

Suroor then shot himself, in an apparent attempt to commit suicide, but was still alive and in a critical condition, a doctor at Sulaimaniyah hospital said.

It was not immediately clear why Suroor opened fire on Small.

Now the student's email above makes it clear.
