Two Catholic activists in Vietnam have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for distributing pamphlets written by the jailed human-rights activist, Father Nguyen Van Ly.
Thuy Vo Thi Thu was sentenced to 5 years in prison, and Nguyen Van Thanh to 3 years. They had been handing out literature advocating a democratic government system. Father Van Ly, who has been imprisoned several different times, is still in prison after his latest arrest last July.
